Our collaboration with OpenXcell involved the development of a cutting-edge marketing solution that utilized geolocation-based services in a unique way. The project included the creation of a native mobile app for iOS and Android, a user-facing website, and a connected CMS platform. The app’s functionality, particularly its geofencing and geotargeting features, was tailored for consumers in South Africa. Throughout the engagement, we worked closely with OpenXcell to refine the app’s capabilities and ensure seamless integration between the CMS and the app.

OpenXcell’s pricing was very reasonable, and they demonstrated a strong expertise in developing the functionalities we required for our app. Their ability to quickly address and resolve any issues that arose during development was impressive. I appreciated their willingness to accommodate our specific needs and make necessary adjustments to meet our project goals.

One area for improvement would be to conduct more thorough testing on each version before delivery. While OpenXcell was responsive in addressing bugs, a more comprehensive review process could help identify and address issues before they impact the user experience. Additionally, adherence to project timelines could be improved to ensure timely delivery of milestones.

They reached out to us via email, and after reviewing their portfolio and completing some test projects, we decided to partner with them. The projects ranged from $1,000 to $5,000 in size, and we used a project management tool to track progress. Despite sometimes setting demanding timelines, OpenXcell consistently delivered on time. They primarily utilized WordPress and open-source technologies, and also provided website maintenance services.

OpenXcell demonstrated exceptional coding skills and a strong ability to meet tight deadlines. Their developers were able to create high-quality websites for various platforms and devices. They have a great ecosystem of plugins available for WordPress, making it easy for clients to manage their websites independently.

One area for improvement is their English-language editing, as it could be enhanced. However, this did not significantly impact the overall quality of their work.

OpenXcell played a crucial role in bringing our social network app for mothers, Jugglr, to life. They handled the complete development package for the Android, iOS, and backend aspects of the app, while we took care of the design in-house. With their support, we were able to launch the app in Australia and gain a significant user base within a short period. Looking ahead, we plan to continue working with OpenXcell for all future improvements and releases.

While OpenXcell excels in development, there is room for improvement in terms of maintenance. As a partner, I would have liked more support in maintaining and running the app post-development. However, OpenXcell has been responsive in addressing this gap and supporting us in any way they can.
