Project Description
I have been partnering with AppTier for over two decades, starting back in 1998. Peter Fucarino, a seasoned consultant, led the installation of a comprehensive document management system for our organization. The project spanned multiple phases, with each business unit being onboarded gradually over a year-and-a-half period. AppTier’s involvement extended beyond just the document management system, as they also developed a specialized database within the system to track legal department documents. Their support didn’t end with the project completion; they continued to assist us with upgrades, patches, and new releases, and we are currently under a managed services contract with them.
Pros
AppTier’s depth of knowledge and experience surpasses that of any other consulting firm I have worked with. They provided valuable ongoing updates and support, ensuring that our document management needs were fully met. Their licensed ECM expert trained each working group individually, making the transition to the new system smooth and efficient.
Cons
One area for improvement would be in the initial training provided to staff when introducing new tools like the Livelink Explorer Client and Enterprise Connect. Some employees found these tools challenging to adapt to, highlighting the importance of comprehensive training and change management strategies in future projects.
