MinecraftGuider is a blog that teaches people the basics of playing Minecraft and how players can interact with the game. The website was awfully hit by the Google HCU update, which lost 90% of the traffic and de-indexed almost all pages.Through deoptimizing the website content, and repurposing the existing pages (interlinking and topical map coverage), the website managed to retrieve hundreds of visitors, and attract new ones.Another issue the website had was bad backlinks, which were in bulk and spammy. Disavowing the backlinks helped to remove spam, and gave space to acquire new profitable links such as TechCrunch, The Guardian, and many more through Digital PR.
